Prasenjit Dhar has been working as the Senior Trade & Investment Advisor - Energy at the British High Commission
in New Delhi, India since October 2007. In his current role, Prasenjit leads on the energy sector - including oil &
gas, power and renewable energy for UK Trade & Investment in India. Other than the commercial aspects of energy,
his responsibilities include working on the policy aspects of energy and energy security for India. In addition,
Prasenjit is a key member of BHC's Climate Change & Energy team in India and works extensively on clean energy
and climate change initiatives.
Before joining the British High Commission, Prasenjit spent over seven years with advisory firms
PriwaterhouseCoopers and KPMG. He had been working with the business advisory / consulting practices
of these firms. In his role as a consultant, Prasenjit worked on various projects (Indian as well as
international) in the infrastructure areas - with a major focus on energy. Prior to his stint in consulting,
Prasenjit had worked with Indian infrastructure, where he worked on research and analysis on power, oil &
gas and transportation sectors in India.
